Central NSW – Carcoar : The town that time forgot

CARCOAR TOWNSHIP

The township of Carcoar was established in 1839 and calls itself “the town that time forgot” which is quite an apt description. The town is the third oldest settlement West of the Blue Mountains and is classified by the National Trust. The village has few modern buildings in the main streets and has been used in a number of films including Brides of Christ. There are no less than five museums and a variety of shops.
